Metal chips in gear oil

I may have already figured out the real cause of the metal chips, which almost always appear in the transmission oil when it is changed.

Jos Velthoven removed the clutch cover and noticed that a extra metal plate is screwed inside the gearbox, probably to prevent oil from leaking into the air hose.
And the gear wheel on the clutch shaft (which moves slightly axially during gear shifting) collides with this metal plate!

This is really desturbing, I watched HadesOmega charge his oil and was horrified. Can the plate be easier? There is a shim washer behind the clutch, can it's thickness be increased to prevent contact? Will check my oil and learn from this. Thanks

I pushed the metal piece a little bit to the back with a screwdriver. Now there's enough space between.
 It's not 'a big deal'. The metal in the oil will stop when it is worn down.
It's difficult to get only the lith off without dissamblying  the gearbox. And it has a paper gasket which you have to replace by liquid gasket.

Thanks for that, an easy fix once the casing is open. I wonder how many are affected?

Luckily I never had any problems with the gearbox, I would just keep changing the oil at regular intervals and clean the drain bolt magnet.
