You must have really sweet-talked Dr. Dave to get him to do this.  I've never had any luck convincing anyone at Brammo to give me the "extra juice."

why not offer a little extra juice as an option.... for those who are not concerned about range....?

If you read some of the older articles about the Enertia (before it went into production), it talks about different "modes" that could be set by the owner.  Alas, that feature never ended up on a production bike.
