This just in from my favorite Brammo tech:

The flat part on the bottom of the Enertia frame will definitely hold the weight of the bike.  If you look on the bottom you will see 2 holes in the frame.  These holes are where the bike mounts onto the racks when the bike is built.  The techs also have flat jack lifts that utilize the two holes to stabilize the bike ie. Removing the rear tire.  The only thing that worries me about that lift in the thread is the bike wobbling while the car is driving down the road…

Just saw this over on craigslist.  I hadn't heard of one of these before:
The Joey Lift Motorcycle carrier:

Joey Lift Motorcycle Carrier, take your bike with you everywhere you go, will haul 1000#. attaches to the receiver hitch. Works great, and very easy to use. Used 6 rimes. Includes optional floorboard and ramp. much easier to use and park than a trailer, and better gas milage than a trailer. $800. or will trade for a gas golf cart.. call 405-306-2110

And the pics:

This would be more expensive (and heavier) than the MX Hauler.

And damn... why is it so hard to find on the internets?

Looks like it is ratchet-strapped at the bottom (to the bumper or frame) and at the top (to the braces in the edge of the pickup bed).  I doubt it would work with my Honda Pilot, but I like the whole, drive on, lift, lower, drive off, design.

Aack... someone stop me.  I just found this: http://www.mightyhauler.com/1000m.html#

WARNING - Every FRIKKIN' page in their website has an autoplay flash video/audio that is extremely annoying. Mute your speakers.

That said, It appears to be the same type of design used on the "Joey Lift", below.

$899 ouch.

OK, slowly step away from the keyboard, Brammofan. :)

I think you should give the MX Hauler more thought. You can use the post for added stability. Have you received any other information on the MX Hauler idea that would make the MX Hauler less project worthy?

No.  I just tend to be an over-researcher.  The only concern I had about the MX hauler was whether the support came down low enough to get underneath the Enertia.  Guess I should find that out, first.

Thanks for the intervention.  :D
