Danged clock
« on: December 05, 2012, 03:38:48 PM »
Anyone else just a little annoyed that the only user-adjustable field on the clock is the hours?  My clock has, for whatever reason, been 'off' by about 8 minutes for awhile.  I just got around to changing it back from daylight savings time and grrrr.

And while we're at it, (I'm channeling Andy Rooney here), it sounds a bit grandiose to call this "Setup Mode," which is what the display reads while you're clicking through the hours.  Why not just call it "Hour adjustment mode" or "the only thing we trust you to actually adjust on the bike mode"?  At least then, I wouldn't have to have my expectations dashed upon the rocks of reality.

Okay. I'm done ranting.

Being only able to set the hour seems a bit weird. Are you sure there isn't some magic sequence of button presses that can adjust the minutes?

Perhaps some of these will make things work differently.
- Long press
- Short press
- Double press
- Press two buttons at the same time
- Press another button somewhere

I've never touched the dash of the Enertia, so I'm totally guessing here. Does the manual (or somebody from Brammo) say that you can only change the hour?

Good luck!

Yes, I'm sure that the hour is the only field you can change. UNLESS... you have a computer that has the software that plugs into the back of the dash and updates the version, tweaks the settings, etc.  But NO ONE has that except for the official Brammo Techs.  >:(

Sounds like an after-market tuner opportunity...  *grin*

Seriously, anything that has a connector is something that can be cracked/hacked/high-jacked.  All it costs is how much the tuner charges, plus the balance of your factory warranty if they catch you.

Yeah... sounds easy-peasy.

But see here:

and, this is the "connector" found on the back of the dash:
[smg id=289 width=400]

No takers in the "hack this" department. :(
