Bar Risers
« on: October 20, 2013, 02:17:37 PM »
After the Bill Mayer Saddle raised my seat (relieving my knees a bit), I found I was reaching for the bars, not much but just noticeable. So I got these Rox Speed FX 2" risers in black and they put the BrammoGrin on my face again.

After clicking the link, click the right arrow 6 times for all the views, plus some shots of my new rear frame sliders in red, to match, of course, the red on the bottom of the front shock.

Did you have any issues with cable lengths?  I thought about the same change, but didn't think I could do it without rewiring.

The 2" rise was close but worked fine. More might be problematic. I had to cut the wire ties on the both sides of the bar to create some slack. It was a bit of stretch to get them in place, but once in place and brought toward the rear a bit, there was plenty of length on all hoses, wires, etc. Once done, I put fresh wire ties back on the bars. EZ.

Thanks for posting this. I'm short and therefore also have short arms. I just bought these bar risers and installed them this past weekend. It's been raining this week but I should be able to try them out tomorrow. They feel like they give me a more comfortable position, but I'll find out how much better tomorrow!

I love the new position of the bars. I don't, however, like where the clutch lever is positioned so I will have to do some adjusting.

Hey! Nice risers,,
I'll probably need those shortly

Could you tell me what brand/model the side cases are?
I heard BRAMMO is still trying to get the GIVI cases out, but still working on the connecting hardware,,

Did you make your own? Or modified from another???

Sorry for the delay: I somehow missed this post. The cases are Givi and the rack is from Brammo. I begged enough so that, in order to shut me up, they sent an in-house testing sample mounting unit to my dealer. I paid the dealer for the bracket, the cases, and the installation.

They are rock solid, after 2K miles, so I can't imagine what the hold up is in putting these into production, as the fabrication of the brackets  doesn't exactly involve any technology past, say, 1912. But I should be nice.

I AM grateful; it's just that I think after release date of almost 1 year, the windshield, side cases, and top case should be available already.
