Battery heater, power consumption?
« on: October 23, 2015, 05:10:51 PM »
Since it's below 10 celclus, I noticed that the power consumed is way higher than warmer days. On a 10hr charge during work, it consumed 30KW. At the end of my shift, BTL was 18 celcius. So I wonder what is the max power comsumption of this heater? Right now it doesn't matter since i'm plugging at work for free but I will surely change my routine for home charging in cold days.

if you have been measured in 10 h 30 kw . and 10 kW are charging the battery from 0 for then consumption approx . It is 2kw / h . for heat up
I think a lot, and not think it's so much you can consume heaters .
This past winter plugged 15 minutes before leaving, as recommended in the manual , but had no information on the temperature. Now that I 'll see if in 15 min up or not enough

Something is wrong with your meter - there is no way the bike pulled 30kw over 10 hours. That would mean the charger was pulling max power for the whole time.

The heaters are 300w.

6 celsius in Toronto today.    At first i thought something was amiss when at a stand-still the bike is pulling 300watts.  Then i notice battery levels temp rising till they reached 20C.
My battery heaters work :)
