Enertia owners! Couple questions about power draw..
« on: October 19, 2010, 10:01:07 AM »
I recall reading that the Enertia display can show present current or power flow.

* On a fairly flat surface, what is the average current or power at maximum speed (65 mph)?
* What's the maximum current or power that you see, accelerating from say 30-60 mph? This might take a couple of tries to see the maximum, depending on how quickly the display refreshes.

Please do be mindful of your surroundings while glancing at the display.

I'm always mindful...  :)

The maximum I've seen on my output is something like 11.1 kw... To maintain the top speed (which, for me, is somewhere around 63mph) on a flat surface... I don't know for sure, because it changes... it ranges from 3.2 kw to 5.8 or so.  It depends on wind, on my posture (amazing how going into a full tuck cuts down on the energy draw), etc.  I rarely go that fast, just because I'm aware of how it affects my range.

Unfortunately I don't know what this "flat" is that you speak of :) and 60mph isn't safe on the surface streets. The display does change a lot, even when maintaining speed. I'm guessing that it's sampling every couple of seconds.

You might want to look at the log files as I'm pretty sure all that information is present there. The service reps have an app that basically replicates the display (plus several other readouts) and reads the log file.

I'd love to see some more log files if you have any you feel comfortable with sharing.
