Im the New Guy
« on: November 24, 2010, 06:25:24 PM »
Hello all. Im new to the EV world and try my best to educate myself more everyday. I recently have been looking into EV bikes and of corse I found Brammo. I must say i think EV has come a long way, or at least further than I thought. I will be trying to get my hands on an Impulse 10.  I would like to ask though. when you pre-order online at Brammo's website, why does the checkout say zero dollars? i think im doing something wrong. I figured pre-ordering would cost a desposit of some sort? I would aperciate some help if you guys have any? I want to lock in one of these nice rides. Thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays!

Hi Jay,

The Empulse preorder does not require any money down. Brammo will contact you when your bike is 90 days away from being shipped to make payment arrangements.

Quote
Customers can place their order for an Empulse by visiting the Brammo website www.brammo.com . Deliveries are expected to commence in mid-2011 and orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers placing an order will be expected to place a refundable deposit once their Empulse is within 90 days of delivery. The Brammo range of motorcycles will be available globally through select motorcycle dealerships and participating Best Buy stores during 2011.

Welcome to the forum.

My understanding is the same as what Protomech has explained on the deposit due date.

The pre-order will keep your place in line as the Empulse bikes are manufactured and shipped to customers.

Hi Jay - Welcome to the forum!  What part of the world do you hail from?  Most of us are US folks, although we do have members from all over the globe.  Also, do you currently ride a motorcycle?

I hail from Colorado Springs CO. Im currently deployed(ARMY) and Ive been riding since i was a wee little lad! last bike i rode was a heavily modified daytona 675. I loved it dearly and sadly sold it before i deployed. Thinking of buying a Speed Triple when I get back along with an Empulse.

Don't you know you're never supposed to get rid of any bike?  Otherwise, you'll always live with the regret of selling it.

Thanks for your service, by the way.  Hope you get back home soon and safely.

Where are you deployed? My daughter is in the Army. She is stationed at Fort Riley, KS, but is in Iraq right now. When she was deployed the Army made arrangements to put her car in storage - didn't you have that option? I know how hard it is to let go of a favorite bike...

this is way late sorry. I was stationed on a God forbidden COB ( Contingency Operating Base) Called Garry Owen. It was about a square mile large and we had to build everything ourselves no fancy contractors there.  I am back home in the USA now and just now settling  down. And i plan on being more active on the site now. It was pretty tough selling my Triumph. and yes the Army does put your ride in storage but it's an open lot that isn't covered or anything. Hope your Daughter is doing well. The "Mission" in Iraq is more like a baby sitting job.
