Issaquah WA
« on: June 14, 2011, 08:38:07 PM »
New owner here. After contemplating about 2 months on a Brammo I drove the 170 miles to Portland and drove a demo at the Best Buy in Cascade Station. Confirmed they had a prepped bike for sale before I drove down and after driving the demo, decided to take it home with me. What a beauty! Subliminal Green of course.

Welcome to the forum, Qutaneous!  Sounds like you had a fun trip.  Pics, if you get a chance, and don't forget to post yourself on the map.

So, what's your riding experience prior to this?

Now have 250miles on bike exclusively from my 5mile one way commute.
Haven't been to the gas station to fill my truck up for a month now and I still have 1/2 tank of gas!
Meeting with a technology reporter from a local paper up here. Want to get the word out.
Bike is performing flawlessly but is not coming close to a 40mile range per charge. But that's okay.
Extremely pleased with all other aspects of my Enertia.

What speed is your commute at?

25mph for approx 1mile
35mph for approx 3miles
30mph for last mile.
The clinker is I have a 3/4 12% grade I need to go up to get to work.
That type of climb really sucks the juice but if I keep it at 30 up the hill it saves significantly.
And I coast it almost all the way down.

Looking at about 25miles b/w charges.

Does that big hill seem to pull more out of the battery each time (on the same charge)? I have a hill with a 45mph speed limit on the beginning + end of my commute and it really seems to suck more out of the batteries at the end than the beginning.

I have found that to be true. The lower the state of charge, the quicker the discharge when loading up the motor.
