Greetings from Texas
« on: July 31, 2011, 10:30:07 AM »
Hey guys, I am a young guy in Texas and have a love for technology.

I have had the bug for an electric vehicle since 2008, since then I have tried to keep up with how Tesla has been doing with the Roadster and "sometime soon" Model S. I have read peoples blogs on how they converted their cars to run off of batteries (sealed lead acid).

About 4 months ago, while looking up a review on a modular carry on bag, I saw a review from the same website on the Brammo Enertia (as I am typing this, I am trying to find what site it was) and felt that bug bite me again as I read more on Enertia and Empulse.

That brings us to here, today. I just got finished reading the Empulse RR racing articles. Very nice and do hope some of the knowledge from it will trickle down to the Empulse line.

I do have a question, the Empulse pre-order, is there any money due at reserve?

Welcome to the forum, Sorian!

Quick answer: no money due when reserving the Empulse.  When it's 90 days from delivery (I think), then some percentage is due as a deposit/down payment.  (can't seem to find this info on the Brammo site... but I will).

So if you're interested, I'd urge you to go ahead and pre-order.

Thanks Brammofan,

Looks like I will be filling out the paperwork for the pre-order.

OK, I do have some more to admit.

I don't have a motorcycle license yet (have considered it since I started eyeing Brammo bikes), I do have a regular driver's license. I need to start looking into how to get a class M endorsement added.

I do ride a road bicycle, so some of what I know from that will help in learning to ride a "real bike" as some like to yell at me some times.

Please look into the introductory rider course by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.  They provide the motorcycles and in some states, graduation from the course includes a motorcycle endorsement on your D.L.

Depends on the state. The MSF course in AL did not grant a motorcycle endorsement, but in our state all that is required is a computer-based exam. While the MSF course did not train us explicitly for that exam, it covered all the information tested on the exam and far beyond.

Here's a quote from a Brammo newsletter:

In CA the MSF class will count for your DMV road test, but it doesn't grant the endorsement.
