Brammo Empulse / Re: 2014 Brammo Empulse R not taking a charge

Find the 2013-2014 Service Manual. (BRAMMO-EMPULSE_service-manual)
The manual might be helpful under remove controller or whatever it says. Don't try to charge individual modules you will only cause cell imbalance and get error codes. Those error codes you have are related to the BMS. The codes are in you owners manual. You have to charge the whole pack together just like the onboard charger does.
Take off the front plastic cover and disconnect the big blue connector to disable the battery for safety. Take off the bottom cover and you will see the controller but it blocks access to the positive terminal so you have to drop it down. Look at how it is attached and remove any screws that are holding it to the bike. Don't disconnect any wires or cooling hoses. You just need to get it low enough to get the top plastic cover off so you can hook you chargers up. Service Manual 90-5 (Picture 11 With Red arrow)
The battery modules are arranged so the most negative terminal is towards the back of the bike on the upper row, probably the one you charged. (Service Manual  20-1 Battery #1)
The most positive terminal will be on the rearmost module in the lower row. The big blue disconnect just hooks them together. The positive battery cable might connect to a flat metal bar. You should be able to see the positive battery cable going up to the rearmost lower battery module. Plug the blue disconnect together and avoid touching any connection. Check the voltage between the negative terminal under the seat and the battery side of the contactor.
Your charger, plug them in and check them with your volt meter to confirm proper polarity. If you hook them up backwards you will fry the chargers.
Hook the negative of you chargers to the negative pack terminal and the positive to the battery side of the contactor and plug it in. The lights on the chargers should be red to tell you that they are charging. When the voltage gets to 100 try turning on the bike.

I had to buy some of the THERM-A-GAP HCS10 Thermally Conductive Gap Filler Pads at work.

We had to buy a minimum at $500.00. It included 11 sheets (Likely 9" x 9") that they cut into small rectangles, 44pcs/ea, at a size we needed. Stuff is like silly putty.

I used to ride to take long rides to Laguna, Hollywood, San Diego, Long Beach, Temecula... relying on the SOC to plan my ride. I used careful charging practices. Within a few years I started with these same problems within the warranty period. I documented this communication when getting maintenance. It is up to the point where it can happen in the 90% and I cannot hold CA Freeway speeds of 70-80mph.
(CyberCycle used to hit 113mph)

My work is nearby and I like to cruise around the city. My motorcycle is now an big electric bicycle now... Part of it is Battery temperature, but mostly it is a dangerous design defect. WOT the throttle and the Amps, bring down the battery Voltage significantly and triggers a BMS cutoff. Read Discussion Topic "Sudden drop in State of Charge" for further details.

Energy is there, I can still ride the bike a longer distances; Just at reduced speeds =/

I built a charger using two of the following 54.6V chargers connected in series. The doubled voltage generated was enough to charge all 7 modules at the same time. Connected to the Negative terminal under the seat and Positive terminal next to the motor controller/contactor. An Electrical Genius on the Forum, suggested this to me and it worked in my case.

I don't leave mine fully charged all the time. The recommendations in the Zero SR/F 2020 manual, seem to be in-line with how I maintain my batteries.

Remember; Even if you find a shop close enough, you'll often have to recharge to get back home. Three places where I used to take mine for service, no longer work on the Empulse. I know a small shop, ArneysGarage, that seems curious, otherwise I'll have to rely on myself.

I see the bike you found on Craigslist, Good Luck =)

Anyone read the Owner's Manual? Many requirements to follow and stipulations that void your warranty...

My bike has under 15,000 miles. I stopped riding on freeways for the same reason. =/

I contacted a local shop and they contacted Victory Tech Service Reps. This was last November 2017; Haven't heard back. Technically my bike is still under the 5 yr warranty up to November of this year...

Same shifter. You need to look up Part#1021957, ASM-SHIFTER,FOOT
Also you'll need to press the bushing out from your old peg & the rubber sleeve...

While my 2014 Empulse was repaired for Fault S82; I wanted to know what other problems I might expect. I asked what other common problem they've worked on? They said leaks from the motor... It is too risky to repair, so they replace =/

Brammo Empulse FAQ / Re: SYSTEM FAULT S82SEVCON - Line Contactor welded
« on: August 15, 2018, 09:48:40 AM »
Took it to Indian Motorcycles of Orange County, Westminister, CA. Like Frodus stated, the problem was the amin contactor; however that part had to be bought as part of an larger assembly.
ASM-CVR,CONTROLLER, 2413378
As I don't know how this part failed. I'm going to start the bike by the book. I was starting my bike by pushing the Start button immediately, as I turned the key. (leaving the switch in run at all times)
Can't be too careful =/

Bushing is #27 on the picture.

You need to look up Part#1021957, ASM-SHIFTER,FOOT and you may need to install a bushing... =/

When Brammo was around this was a $20 part, for the full assembly...
