While Ted doesn't think that Polaris would have a use for Brammo technology in their utility vehicles, I think it would work very well in their jet skis and snowmobiles.  Both of those vehicles are under heavy pressure from environmental regulators in many areas of the country.  Making them run on batteries would solve a lot of off-road access issues.

I didn't realize those promo prices were still going on.  Crazy.  I would think that while those are great prices, people might also hesitate to buy a motorcycle amid speculation about the future of the company, and the lower prices just fuel that speculation.

I agree to a certain extent. I think the author is speculating that it's really easy to develop an electric drivetrain, and Polaris doesn't need any help. In reality it is easy to make one for demos (LiveWire), it's much more difficult to make one that will stand the test of time yet still have the specifications to sell.

BTW, Polaris no longer makes personal watercraft, but I agree that an electric drivetrain would be great for that! Snowmobiles would be great, but I wonder how much energy would be lost keeping the cells warm?

I personally hope Brammo isn't sold to Polaris. I've never been very impressed with their product line as it's always been more form than function.
