Oh well...one day he will learn that more is better...Zero and Brammo can coexist...in fact they should support each other as Honda could kill them both if they wanted...

Oh well...I like the Zero S...sadly I am not liking the company too much due to certain comments and posts around the internets...

Im sure this guy doesnt share the opinions of everyone at Zero... its one thing to be passionate about your own products and have a competitive attitude towards your competition, but to bash and slander, that's just not cool.

Well "currently" the Electric Motorcycle market is kinda small...especially for commuter bikes....

Perhaps he thinks that if Brammo fails then Zero will gain all the EV motorcycle business?

Which just isn't true. I never liked the Zero style till the 2012 models...and those nicer bikes aren't in stores yet. And cost 2 thousand 5 hundred more than the Brammo bike I'm looking to get.

Now if Spring comes and suddenly Brammo has a big price hike, well I will look closer at the Zero...but I still prefer the Brammo style and the current Brammo pricing...

It is a hard market to survive in (which is why I'm happy about Polaris getting involved with Brammo). Not a ton of money to be made while the customer base is small like it is now...and when the customer base grows (as we know it will), well the big boys will come quickly to market and make the most sales and profits...

What the start ups need to hope for is A) get a great product out at a good price. B) Get some press and move some product and C) Hope they get well known enough and that the big boys sit on their butts long enough so the start up has a strong toe hold into the market and can keep selling bike even after Honda and others are selling electric motorcycles.

D) would be the hope to be bought out by one of the big boys...Brammo doesn't seem to be going this route or they would have just sold out to Polaris entirely...I don't know what Zero's intent is. I don't see any of the Japanese companies nor BMW going the "buy you out" route. Both are too proud of their engineering. With Polaris helping out Brammo I could see Zero going to Harley Davidson...they seem like the only big motorcycle company that might be looking to buy out an EV start up.

I'll stick with my gasser before I buy a Zero. At least until they change their looks. I don't care for the moto look so I'm not going to buy one based on that, it has nothing to do with their company or the performance of their product.

I find it interesting that anyone is talking smack about any company this early in the EV game. Sounds very insecure.

I too prefer the Brammo style...which is why I haven't really planned on buying a Zero...still I do like the improvements they are making. And two person riding is a nice addition. Even though I rarely ride 2 up, it is something I will miss with the Enertia Plus.

But I will wait a bit longer as I like the Enertia more than the Zero bikes....


That said, once you go electric for commuting it is hard to go back. I'll keep my gasser for my long trips (which are only a few times a year), but I don't use it at all anymore as my daily rider.

Still, God forbid, if something goes south with Brammo I will be looking a lot harder at those Zero bikes.

At this point I NEED** an electric bike...

**I don't really NEED one, but I won't buy another gas bike...which is tough as there is a beautiful Kawasaki "Bonneville" clone up on Craigslist....and I still think the Bonneville is the most beautiful bike ever made...

I'm not a fan of the moto style either. In other words, if Brammo only had the Engage and the Encite, I would be more likely to get a Zero S. I'm not sure if I like the Zero S or the Enertia better, but I definitely like the Empulse a lot better than anything else I've seen out there. I hope that I can buy one soon.

I'm willing to wait for what I want. Who know's maybe they'll be delayed another year getting into Canada and I'll be getting something with even more range instead of something that has barely the range I'm looking for.

It doesn't happen often   ;)
In my opinion there's nothing wrong with them though (I prefer the supermoto/upright riding position), but the ZF6 costs a little too much (the ZF9 way too much), the XU has enough range to get me to work but not back home and I can't charge at work. The E+ or the Empulse 6.0 would be sufficient for my commute but the last I had heard from Brammo is they were not yet certified for our roads...

The XU battery pack is removable - so you could bring it indoors to charge. Or you could probably rig up a tail mount and bring another battery pack with you.. though honestly you'd be better off buying a ZF6 in that case.

I asked and have received permission to charge the removable pack at work; there's no infrastructure to charge an EV but removable packs are okay. I'm going to wait and see what Brammo has to disclose about Canadian delivery dates...
