Volt advertisement
« on: May 24, 2012, 08:46:10 AM »
This is a pretty funny advertisement for the Chevy Volt.

I'm looking forward to one day seeing an apocalypse movie where, with no gasoline left in the world and after walking for weeks, the survivors stumble upon an electric vehicle plugged into a solar array. Perhaps we'll see EV sales to survivalists go up a bit after that movie. ;)

I saw this yesterday when Brammo posted it to their FB page.  It is pretty funny.

I'm a big fan of the zombie genre.  I have to ask: Any forum members here fans of "The Walking Dead"?  (Either the comics or the television series).

I watched Season 1 of the show and was a little disappointed at the end. Haven't watched Season 2 yet.

28 Days / 28 Weeks Later are my favorite zombie films.

When the zombie invasion comes, having two wheels and being able to bug out will be a little more important than having a roof over your head.

I really like this:

Maybe paired with a light trailer to haul supplies and extra panels to charge when there's downtime. Anyone that's seen zombie films knows that you don't have to move fast, but you do have to move.. fixed solar is a big nono.

The 28 movies were very good.
Please give Season 2 of The Walking Dead a try.  It kind of plods a bit in the middle but then... wow.

Great Volt ad.

Yes, I like the show. There are lots of details to keep track of which makes it more interesting for me.

Shaun of the Dead was my favorite of the zombie/comedy subgenre.  ::)  I also recommend "Zombieland."

Shaun of the Dead is very good.

Dance of the Dead, while not great cinema, was a very enjoyable comedy. Right up there with Shaun of the Dead IMO : )

I'm a fan of The Walking Dead. Season One was good, the first episode got me hooked. Brammofan is right, middle of Season Two is slow, then towards the end it picks up nicely. I think there were either different directors or writers for the two halves, maybe both. Wiki shows Frank Darabont as no longer being the "showrunner"...

I searched netflix right after you posted that (and after I watched the trailer :) ) but the only one on it is the 2005 "Masters of Horror: Tobe Hooper: Dance of the Dead"  Doesn't have the same appeal as the 2008 one.  I will have to hunt it up.
