One more reason to hate EmpulseBuyer.... :)

http://green.autoblog.com/2012/06/25/new-colorado-law-makes-it-easy-to-sell-electricity-to-evs/

Great news for people in Colorado....

they get EV rebates out the wazoo and now easier access to charging....

grrrrrrrr, if EB wasn't sooooo nice I would be even madder....

Congrats to my neighbors to the North...can you please get New Mexico to be a bit greener too???

LOL... sorry man, I dont make the rules. I just benefit from them... :D
If it makes you feel better Xcel energy pays me .03/kWh for my excess solar production... then turns around and charges my neighbors .12/kWh for what I put back out on the grid.

BTW, want to see something neat? http://dory.homeserver.com:88/Footprints.html

Thats real-time production on my 5kWh system, house usage is not tracked so the numbers are always negative... its sized for an EV or two... just planning ahead.

lol @ Peak kW Today: -0.008 kW @ 5:37 AM .. polarity error ;)

TVA, the federally-owned utility that services Huntsville, has a killer deal for local solar. They purchase ALL of your grid-connected power at $0.12/kWh above the current rate, then sell it back to you at that current rate. And they enter into a contract to do so for 10 years when you install your local solar.

If your panels produced 825.8 kWh this month, EB, then they'd write you a check for $99.10 less whatever power you use above 825.8 kWh. And if (for some reason) you used no power, then they'd write you a check for ($0.12 + $0.085)/kWh * 825.8 kWh = $169.29.

And what we have in good ol' Va? Absolutely nothing!!!

Time to check UC Boulder for jobs... Or CSU in Denver...

Any good small liberal arts colleges in your area, EB?

Proto, that is a smoking deal! Especially well tailored for folks that would finance their system! I think our average household consumption is around 400kWh a month... so yeah, we make a little extra.

dang, and I thought mine set up told me a lot...

Dude, you have stats on EACH Panel! If I could do it all over again I would have went with Enphase for my entire system. Right now I have ~3kW hooked up to a SMC Sunny Boy inverter, and another 2kW hooked up to Enphase inverters. The Enphase stuff is way better... way way better. That damn Sunny Boy is only warrantied for 10 years while the Enphase micro-inverters are warrantied for 25!

*Disclaimer: I am long ENPH

Well there is Metro State... CU and CSU are great choices as well... there's also UNC.

ha, yes...each panel....i remember when I first got my system I use to check the graft like 20 times a day...it gets addictive.

The other problem with string inverters is if a bird takes a poo on one panel, that bird may have well as poo'ed on all of em. Ie: If power output drops on one panel for whatever reason, all panels are dropped to output equal to the lowest producing panel... Micro-inverters are the future of PV systems.

Yep. One of the main reasons we went with micro inverters...we have some morning and afternoon shading..this allows the other panels to keep chugging along when the side panels start losing the sun...
