I think we had heard about this as a potential acquisition.  Looks like they closed the deal.

Local Technology Company, Brammo, Inc, Purchasing
Walmart Building in Talent

Walmart re-locating; New Walmart Supercenter in South Medford to open
in August 2012

Talent, Ore. July 13, 2012 –Local technology company, Brammo, Inc. is purchasing the Walmart
building located at 300 West Valley View Road, which will be vacated when the retailer opens
the new Walmart Supercenter in South Medford next month. Brammo Inc., an electric vehicle
technology company headquartered in southern Oregon, will take possession of the Talent
location before the end of the year and will repurpose the space to meet its needs.

“We are pleased to have been able to provide quality products at affordable prices to the Talent
community,” said Jennifer Spall, Director of Regional Public Affairs & Government Relations for
Walmart. “Walmart is extremely grateful to the citizens of Talent and Mayor Bill Cecil for working
with us to help serve the Talent community for so many years. We look forward to offering
customers an option for affordable fresh groceries at our new location.”

"Walmart has been a part of the Talent community for many years, we are sad to see the store
close. They have been a great local partner and helped to provide the Talent community with
much needed jobs. I am pleased to hear that the Talent Walmart employees will continue to be
employed at Walmart's new South Medford location,” said Talent Mayor Bill Cecil.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Brammo to accelerate its growth here in the Rogue Valley and
consolidate our teams from the multiple locations we currently occupy,” said Craig Bramscher,
CEO and founder of Brammo Inc.

Walmart is building a new Supercenter to better serve customers in the Talent/South Medford
area. The store, which is slated to open next month at 1360 Center Drive, will provide customers
one-stop shopping convenience for general merchandise and affordable fresh groceries.

What I would like to know is whether or not this part of the initial plan approved by the Ashland civic counsel for expansion earlier this year: http://blog.motorcycle.com/2012/01/17/motorcycle-category/off-road/brammo-expansion-plans/

"consolidate our teams from the multiple locations we currently occupy"

Then are they moving their HQ to this location too? Its not far from Ashland at all... like, 5 miles away.

Not that I would let the lack of detailed information prevent me from posting to my blog about it: http://www.empulsebuyer.com/?p=813

Yeah, I have no idea what Craig's talking about there, either.  I know that Brian used to (maybe still does) live in Talent.  How do I know this?

Talent seems like the right place to find talented folks like Brian though.

Brammo is on a ROLL...

Buying buildings, lining up credit, raising funds, adding more jobs...a lot going on all at one time

List of dealers and bikes on the road should be happening soon......

And I wish I was 20 years younger...that Empulse Tour job would be killer...but I don't think I could be away from my granddaughter that much...

And I probably would take a hefty pay cut....but touring the States showing off the Empulse!! Dang sweet job for somebody (I already facebooked it to my motorcycle friends)

I REALLY wish I had some experience in a motorcycle dealer.  I'm also not 100% sure of my salesman skills.  Although, that would be an easy bike to sell.  But everything else I got.

OK, so it looks like Brammo is indeed moving most of their operations (including HQ) to this new location.

I found this interesting:

"The Walmart customers NewsWatch12 spoke with seemed indifferent to the new business coming in and remained disappointed about the loss of the Walmart store."

Say whaaaat? I would be elated!

Yes, but you're not like 95% of the populations of America who love Walmart and everything it represents.  Just spend a little time on peopleofwalmart.com . :-\

I wonder if this delays or cancels the new buildings...

They were much prettier than any Walmart, or Walmart customers :)

This is encouraging news to me. Frankly, I was getting concerned, but it does look like they are expanding and planning to crank out a bunch of bikes. With that large Walmart parking lot, they can build a test track as well. It's not like neighboring businesses would complain about the noise.
