So, I'm confused.  Is that the Empulse RR, or is that the Empulse or Empulse R, dressed up as the model TTX that was announced last year?

Whatever... it looks extremely cool.  :D

Not an RR...

I will ask tomorrow...I think it might be their super stock bike...what will race against the Zero bikes one day...but that is just my guess...it could be a 7.5 race bike, but they would have to pull some batteries...

It could be just a show bike...that is what it will be doing at SECA...sitting in the center of the tent on display.

TTX is a race version of the R. Ditch the CF bits, lights, mirrors, tail (wow that looks better).

Rotors look like the same, pads are probably race-specific. Tires are no doubt race tires. Wheels look like the same. Motor and battery are almost certainly the same, motor could be hopped up a little.

Onboard charger is probably gone. Rear sets are gone.

Weight is probably down 40-50 lbs.

I don't think the TTX will compete for the eSuperStock award - for starts they obviously need a race venue where they can compete before 25 have been sold. They will probably just straight up compete in the TTXGP, though they will probably be most competitive with the 7.5 kWh bikes.

Would like to see Empulse Rs compete in eSS as well.

This is a super awesome version of the Empulse R.  They basically solved almost everything I wanted to change in one quick move.  The rear was cleaned up, the white on the belly piece optically made the belly much less "fat" looking.  I liked it so much, that I went on a Where's Waldo style comparison on http://www.brammo.com/brammogallery_empulse/ to list all the differences.  I quickly figured out this is just a clever photoshop job on picture number 9.  There are way too many similarities that just couldn't be duplicated even if they tried.  All the holes in the rotor and chainring all line up exactly the same.  All the lighting reflections all line up exactly the same.  The ends of the handle bars line up exactly the same, etc.

So not yet a full bike, still just a promotional photo.

Is it still a photoshop if the original image is a rendering too? (I doubt it is, but Apple for example uses renderings for their glamor shots).

The tires certainly will be different from the production bike.

The white belly fairings work well against a white background. May work well in real life too. Probably anything other than flat black will help.

Ok...2 things

1. The bike will be there tomorrow...so I will add photos ASAP in the AM.

2. I mentioned to Adrian, "hmmm, 2 RR bikes and two riders--Steve and now Eric. 1 Empulse TTX---seems that could be Shelina's bike and it seems perfect for SuperSport...so next year she races against the Zero bikes?" ......

The answer....Yes the TTX is Shelina's bike. Yes she plans to race in the SuperSport class. As for when...well, not tomorrow...but sooner than next year. I'll leave it at that....till things get announced either Friday or this weekend.

Shelina: And now my friend, the first rule of Italian riding.
*Shelina rips off the mirrors of the Empulse R and tosses them aside, rides off on the TTX*
Shelina: What's behind me is not important.

If the TTX is being entered in the eSuperSport award then it will need 25 bikes sold. It's possible that the Empulse R would count for homologation purposes.

I wonder if Brammo will sell a TTX kit to convert an Empulse R for racing.

If the Empulse TTX is not racing tomorrow, then they have two chances to race.

Miller Motorsport Park    31st AUG - 2 SEPT
Daytona International Raceway    19-21 OCT

Brammofan, what are the rules on attending the TTXGP world series final race? Are only the top positions in each of the regional competitions accepted - eg does Brammo need to at least have competed with the TTX prior to the world series? Or can the TTX ride along on the Empulse RR's coattails?

In any case, if they want to race at Miller for the eSuperSport award then they need to get 25 bikes in owner hands by the end of August - would be a good sign.

Well, Gavin just tweeted a picture of it, saying "Moreda's Bike", so maybe it will be racing tomorrow (Sunday, actually).

As for the rules of 'who gets to attend' the Daytona championship, I'd have to say . . . I'll have to get back  to you on that.  The rules on points seem to have been hidden on their site.  ???
