I see he had to push the tank button to get the bike on. This must be one of the earlier versions of the bike. 2011, perhaps?

By the way, people who have seen the Enertia Plus (Gavin), does the bike still make the boot up sound when you turn it on? How about a wee video of you going through the start up sequence on the Plus?

It's because Euros use km. 1 km is smaller than 1 mile.

Looks like about the same size to me ... about the same size as the front rotor.

Thanks for the video.

That power up sequence seems very similar to a standard bike.
- Key in
- Turn the key to On
- Press the start button

I always use the kill switch to turn the bike's engine off, which means that I have an additional start up step of turning off the kill switch. The rational being that it's a good habit to get into for when I have to turn off the bike with the kill switch (although the manual recommends using the key to turn off the bike).

I see that there's kill switch next to the power button. How does that work / what does that do? Is there any safety advantage to using the kill switch - i.e. does it disengage the batter from the motor - or is it just for bikers who like to turn off the bike with that switch? I presume that the switch will work like the switch on an ICE bike, in that once you hit it, you would have to press the start button again before you can go.

I sometimes use the kill switch, sometimes not.  The main point about the kill switch is that, even if you left it on when you turned off the bike with the key, the next time you power up the bike, you're going to get a message "cycle throttle switch."  In other words, you can't move until you've turned that switch off, then on again.  Other things that must be in particular positions for the bike to move:
Headlight - on
Kickstand - up
throttle switch - on
throttle - in off position
and, of course, key in the on position, and the power/tank button pressed for about 4 seconds.

The bike won't go without the headlight on? If so, then why not turn the headlight on when I start the bike? Perhaps that's how the Enertia Classic works, and the Plus is a little more streamlined.

Watching the video over again, a few more questions came to mind:
- I notice that it takes a few seconds before the start button allows the bike to go. I wonder if we would be able to configure that to take less time.
- Can the bike be in GO mode with the kickstand down? Gavin, you didn't start the bike until after the kickstand was up (do you do the same thing when on an ICE bike?)
- If the bike can be started with the kickstand down, what happens if you try to move forwards? (My bike will kill the engine, but perhaps the Enertia will simply not move).

:-\ All these questions could probably be answered but getting on one of those bikes for a couple of minutes. Alas, that's not possible right now. Less than 2 weeks before the dealer road show gets underway!

more streamlined on the Plus.

when the bike is on, the headlight is on. only headlight switch is low/high beam

one downside of startup...no kill switch warning on the LCD...so if you have the kill switch on and you power up and nothing happens...well you have to remember to check the kill switch...

but then I'm kinda thick...so I'll sit there for a few seconds thinking...dang, why won't it go??

I'll have to tell the worst/funniest kill switch story someday...it is embarrassing.

kickstand down...bike won't "go"

power button...you have to hold it in for about 3 seconds...then about 2 more seconds to start up...

not sure if it can be faster?? might be a "boot up" situation.

I will try the start up differently later today....

key in/ turn to on

power button press

then kickstand up last.
