Motorcycle Sport & Leisure reviews the Victory Empulse TT

The British magazine Motorcycle Sport & Leisure contains a two-page article (with a sidebar about riding the RR) regarding the new Victory Empulse, in their September 2015 issue, on pages 36 and 37.  The article is titled "Current performance", which I thought was kind of cute. The article was written in response to the Victory Empulse TT press introduction at a racetrack and is quite positive.  It also does a nice job of summarizing the changes Victory made to the Brammo Empulse, as follows below:

MSL quotes Victory's engineers as saying: "Brammo had seven battery modules.  We've combined those into two modules, one above and one below the frame, which allows us to improve cell density.  We've also made lots of small improvements like a dash that shows power consumption in a more intuitive way"  They go on to say that "the power train is otherwise unchanged..."

The reviewer, Roland Brown, says that the Empulse ran out of steam at just over 100 mph and the battery pack went from 70% charge to 30% charge in 15 miles of mostly flat-out running.  He estimates that the TT would have gone about 40 miles before exhausting its batteries on the track and it should be able to travel over 50 miles on the road at a "decent pace".  The article also said that the price of the Empulse in the UK was not announced, but he thought it should be similar to the price of the bike last year, which was 15,350 pounds in the UK market. Roland Brown ends his article with: "Victory's brave charge into the future has begun but it won't be an easy ride."
