Windshields:
« on: September 18, 2016, 06:13:24 PM »
I have an Empulse TT and i'm looking to get a windshield installed (not too tall not too short), so i just wanted to check with all u guys on the various windshields that u have/tried.

I'm looking at an MRA SpeedScreen rather than an MRA RacingScreen. I feel the speed screen is big enough for my needs. Have any of u tried that? If so, please share some pics if any :)

Also has anyone tried the shorter windscreens? Like:

Would the puig fit on the Empulses?

Thanks,
Shayan

Have you seen Victory's screens? They have 2 available for the Empulse, a short and a slightly taller one. I have the short version on my Brammo Empulse.

Here is a link to Victory's website page for the screen:

Wow!! Love ur bike and the yellow.

I did consider those, but not sure how aerodynamic they are. So i'm considering getting an aftermarket shield. Did u notice any change in the range?

I have the MRA Vario and it gave me about 10% more range on the highway.

Placed an order for an MRA RNB after much research. I think the height of that shield should fit my needs well. Have any of u tried any other fairings on the Empulse other than shields? Maybe eliminating the rear fenders cuts off some of the drag? Any other fairings maybe?

If you do not have a windshield yet, Victory is closing out both the short and tall models. The product selector does not indicate it is Empulse compatible and yet the product shot shows it mounted on an Empulse. :) Currently only $80.

I can attest that you can make these fit on 2013 Empulses just fine. Just gotta make a bigger hole or use a smaller bolt at one of the points.

Yep. Does fit. Just mounted it on an Oregon made Empulse. Had to slightly drill out the mount points as mentioned but it was a no brainer... except for dropping the nuts about a dozen times each when mounting on the rails. Lol. Looks like it is supposed to be there and is WAY thicker than expected. It could probably stop a swallow. Or jackrabbit. :) Even the shorty provides welcome relief.

Sale is still going...

Woot! Thanks to djgipp, I bought a "tall" windshield to change out with the short one that I bought awhile ago. It will be the fall/winter shield while the short will be spring/summer. Pics will follow soon as well as a comparison/review since I have been using the short for just over a year now.

My first windshield was a MRA V-Flow which worked well enough but I wanted something with a more refined look or factory finish. I then went with a Victory short screen for about a year and now bought a Victory tall screen since they were on sale.

The photos should speak for themselves comparing size and shape and overall look.
