Mission Motors Mission R at Refuel TT 2018
« on: July 13, 2018, 12:27:45 AM »
So I got to see a unicorn electric motorcycle at Refuel TT.  He was actually my neighbor he parked right next to me, the owner was a really nice guy.  This is the same Mission Motors that was in the Charge documentary.  Check it out it was a beautiful bike.

One of my all time favorite bikes. Skadamo(, the owner of this forum and electricmotorcycleforum.com) and I visited Mission Motors following the first TTXGP race at Sonoma in 2010. They were the nicest folks.

I have to admit, looking at the Mission chassis parts, they certainly didn't spare any money when manufacturing and selecting those components. I imagine that there was no way Mission could have manufactured that bike at a price that any significant number of customers could have afforded.  It no doubt made a good technology demonstrator, but as a possible production vehicle (which is where my interest lies) that could have made the company and its investors a profit, it was probably way over the top.  ;)

Yes I heard that bike would cost about $70k if it were put into production, I'm sure if they sold a ton of them the price could go down due to economies of scale.  You could pretty much get a Model S for that much =P
