Brammo targets...or where should Brammo be pushing sales.
« on: October 11, 2010, 01:01:37 PM »
Ok, still think Brammo needs to get Enertias on every college campus by getting the colleges to get them for their police/security force...perfect fit, green, quiet, good speed and range for campus use.

But where else should they be pushing their electric powercycles?

One: Islands. Generally range and speed are not an issue on Islands...but often gas prices are. So go electric powercycles for commuting. Hawaii and Manattan/Long Island or USA no-brainers for this. Along with Iceland. But the real money would come from Hong Kong, and Singapore with their large populations. But also Male'/Maldives---Very dense city on small Island that is very very VERY concerned with global warming (they are likely to be totally underwater this century). Salsette Island in India...13 freaking million people to sell to. Manila also.

Two: Large Cities. Yes this is a no brainer too, but needs to be pushed much harder than currently able with small staff and such. London, LA, Mexico City, NYC, Paris, Rio de Janerio, Tokyo (loves new gadgets)...If Brammo pushed hard on these cities, and more, well they would have sales out the .....

Three...a tie in to the last one...Polluted Cites...yes this is basically all the large cities also, but push the clean air and maybe work with the local government to get tax breaks. Pittsburgh just took over LA as most polluted in the US...push Pittsburgh to go green. For the USA:

Most polluted US cities
(By short-term particle pollution)
1. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
2. Fresno, California
3. Bakersfield, California
4. Los Angeles, California.
5. Birmingham, Alabama
6. Salt Lake City, Utah
7. Sacramento, California
8. Logan, Utah
9. Chicago, Illinois
9. Detroit, Michigan

Most polluted US cities
(By ozone pollution)
1. Los Angeles, California
2. Bakersfield, California
3. Visalia, California
4. Fresno, California
5. Houston, Texas
6. Sacramento, California.
7. Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas
8. Charlotte, North Carolina
9. Phoenix, Arizona
10. El Centro, California

Most polluted US cities
(By year-round particle pollution)
1. Bakersfield, California
2. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
3. Los Angeles, California
4. Visalia, California
5. Birmingham, Alabama
6. Hanford, California
7. Fresno, California
8. Cincinnati, Ohio
9. Detroit, Michigan
10. Cleveland, Ohio

Everyone of those cities should have a Brammo dealership.

Others? Well

Four...Green Cities...Any city with large solar panel installation should have a Brammo dealership. Or follow the LEAF roll out and jump on that train and put Brammos where the LEAF has charging stations.

Another quick and simple way to maybe get sales:

Have a web guy make a bunch of quick and easy photoshops of Enertias with College Campus sercurity logos and then make a standard pitch form (Affordable, nimble, efficient, quiet, fast and clean. The perfect way to patrol and keep you campus secure) ...then send out info to the security office about ordering a special Enertia or two for the department...

As an example, this took 30 seconds to find on the internet (Typed in UNM security) and 2 minutes in Photoshop...yeah it's crap, but gives the idea fine. Any college kid could make a hundred campus specific images in a day.

Campus security should be an easy sell.

Mobile, quiet, clean. Plenty fast for campus and the range shouldn't be an issue.

And getting the the Enertia seen on campus could easily fuel sales to students and staff.

well i talked to the Campus Police...Currently they use both cars and ATVs...this was the email I got today...

>>> K.M. 11/16/2011 11:39 AM >>> Gavin, thank you very much for the information regarding electric motorcycles.  We do not utilize motorcycles for patrol it was tried in the past and was not a good fit for the department.  But if we ever return to motorcylces we will certainly look into electric.

eh, so maybe Campuses aren't the slam dunk I thought they would be...

What the cops really want is an electric APC.   :o
current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

Here are two more targets for Brammo sales:

1)  States with hefty state incentives/tax credits (like Colorado).

2)  Cities at high altitudes, where the EV motors won't lose any power at all, compared to gassers losing up to 20% of their power (like Denver).
