Free the data- Empulse log files
« on: March 10, 2021, 06:18:25 AM »
Hi, after looking at the data files from HadesOmegas bike I thought I would look at mine also. So having taken the seat off to connect power for the 12v  sat nav I removed and copied the files from the tiny usb stick. Just over 1100 of them, 435mb. Three quarters were riding logs and the rest charging.
I've looked at about 20 files, you can see the day it was created. Six weeks later it was registered and began its new life.
So what did I find? Max speed 97mph - 5900rpm in 5th. Max range 70miles taking 93% of the battery (9809W) on several occasions, many journeys of 60mls using 100%. Those German roads allow the bike to be enjoyed fully.
Initial relative humidity new of 38%, now 58-60%. So happy I've checked. Cell voltage still able to match the new value of 4.146v in most cases.
Biggest fault, a D4 error after 2years. Anyone help to say what that represents please? BMS firmware updated.
Surprises, battery doesn't start to charge until it has warmed to 12 deg C and the heaters don't turn off and full power charging begins until 20 deg C

Error D4 means that the motor controller has stopped communicating with the control unit.

It happens to me several times a year on my Brammo Enertia +. If it is while driving, the engine is switched off and the motorcycle stops. The error always disappears after a restart.

I suspect moisture or slight corrosion of any pin in the Sevcon motor controller connector. Cleaning the connector with contact cleaner may help.

hello guys, seem we know a lot more about the brammo's, but it would be nice if the information would be concentrated into the wiki. So as where is the flashdrive positioned, how can we get the info on a computer etc.

keep on riding!

Hi, the flash drive ( called Brammo DCC) sits next to the charger under the seat in a pvc sheath. There is a photo of it on page 87 of my owners manual. The log file converter is linked from page 3 of HadesOmega B40 trouble, sends you to a website by Michael and it's a zip file to download and run. The CSV files created can be read by MS excel. I don't know how to link any of this stuff. Sorry.

Yeah the battery won't charge if it's too cold.  It has pack heaters so if it's too cold the heaters will warm the battery up and then start charging.  If you charge when it's cold you'll actually see it go into negative current.

Yeah sorry I didn't go over the exact process of checking the log file, but yeah under the front part of the seat is (at least on the victory) is a USB extension cable with a Sandisk thumbdrive.  It's under a read vinyl cover or vacuum cap.  Pull the cap off and pull the USB drive out and insert into your computer.

Hi, more tales from the logs. My bike has done many journeys using nearly all of the battery, this shows half the capacity is used when the dash falls from 100% to 57%. I struggled to reach home recently, hence the interest. Also, and I know this relates to riding style and terrain, but the most regen, over some 60-70ml journeys (9350Wh used ) was 212Wh or 1 1/2 ml  extra distance. I guess the light weight and high drag restricts the regen. Any thoughts?
