2021 Northern California motorcycle show
« on: July 23, 2021, 04:34:49 PM »
Here is a link to a Motorcycle.com review of the 2021 Northern California International Motorcycle Show. The event is described as being "intimate" and the attendance was said to be disappointing. The author talked about a few of the attendees and not about any new motorcycles. Apparently the vendors didn't do much vending, although the test rides were well attended:  https://www.motorcycle.com/events/2021-international-motorcycle-show-at-sonoma-raceway

I attended the event last Saturday with my family and had a good time, with the exception of the expensive food that took my daughter about 45 minutes of standing in line to make her order and to pick it up at the takeout window.  :(  The weather was certainly a lot more comfortable at Sears Point than is typical for a July at the track.  :)  I managed to shrink my 1mb photos down to something that can be attached to this post. Attached is a photo of the Zero exhibit, with their bikes lined up and waiting to go on a test ride. I think that is more Zero motorcycles than I have ever seen in one spot.  ;)
current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

I went on Saturday on my KLR650.  I got to ride the new KLR650, KLX300SM, R7, Duke 890, Livewire One, KRX1000 side by side, and FXE.  It was like a demoride fest ;)

I knew the food would be expensive so I pretty much didn't eat until I went home.  There's an A&W on the way home is where I stopped off at :)  I just brought crackers with me and water.  It's was pretty warm.

I hella got roped into a FXE demo ride haha.  They were hey you wanna go for a ride, it'll only take 5 minutes!  Sign me up!  I always enjoy a ride on a FX.

Nice videos, HadesOmega. Thanks for producing them. You certainly were a lot more active than I was at the show.

But then in my defense, I am somewhat jaded by motorcycles shows as I have gone to every motorcycle show held in the San Francisco Bay Area since the early-1970's shows which were held at Brooks Hall in downtown San Francisco, before they got kicked out of SF and moved to the Cow Palace in Daly City.  ;)

Yeah I was pretty excited there hasn't been an IMS since the last one in San Mateo a long time ago.  I go to Sonoma Raceway fairly often also to drag race my Light Bee and do the kart trackdays.

Yes, thank you for making the videos.  Very much appreciated.  I wish that there were events like this in my area.  Envious as usual.

Just out of curiosity, what was the seat comfort of the Livewire like?  I sat on one at a dealership and it seemed really narrow and pretty light on padding from what I remember.

Hmm it was comfortable for the amount of time I was riding it.  I'd really like to ride one much longer I do think it is a great bike.  But yes that's another thing I noted about it was it felt narrow.  It is a heavy beast though but it is pretty low to the ground which helps, lower than the Energica bikes.
