EV vs Gas life cycle environmental impact study

An article in my newspaper today by Peter Douglas in his Green Rides column quotes a study titled "A global comparison of the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of combustion engine and electric passenger cars", published on July 20th, by The International Council on Clean Energy Transportation. Their report concludes that today's battery electric vehicles "have by far the lowest life-cycle GHC emissions".  Attached is a copy of Peter Douglas's article.

Interesting that'll get all those wahhh electrics cause more pollution to build than ICE.  I guess I can understand the plugin hybrids are more polluting because you are literally us both electric and ICE to build the vehicle.  BTW I'm buying a Rav4 Prime soon =P  I will be charging it with an hybrid off grid solar panel system I built for my garage =)

Check out this article about recycling batteries, I'm sure disposing/recycling batteries will become a big business in the future.  Always wondered wh a they do with old packs.  We gotta find a way to dispose of these EVs at the end of their lifecycles and extend their lifecycles.

I wish Zero had a buy-back program where they would buy back your motorcycle at the end of its useful life and recycle its electrical and battery components. But I don't think the industry has reached that point yet. But someday they will have too.

They do have a buyback program if it won't run.  But because of an NDA I can't give you any details  8)
