Hi Richard, funny you should post this. I'm a regular viewer of FortNine, watched and enjoyed this episode yesterday. Here in the UK recumbent cycles and motorcycles are a niche product. I'm always interested but never tried one. I feel moving about in traffic in town would be their undoing. Electric power helps here though.
Sadly I feel the same about the Aptera, needs a mast with a flag on top and is so wide the front wheels will be knocked off by other vehicles parking or in traffic. Foot wider than BMW i7!!! Shame as I think they look great.

Thank you for sharing the video.  Very entertaining and thought provoking at the same time. 

As for the Aptera, it may be a wide vehicle but it's still going to be crazy efficient and unique.  Waiting to see the crash test results before considering a purchase.
