hmm, ok.  will take a look of your Brammofan blog.

I'll kick this off.  I am Harry Mallin, and I, unfortunately, do not own a Brammo Enertia (yet).  I run the Brammofan blog (www.brammofan.com) and have been doing so for about a year.
Lots of pics, videos, stories, and editorializing nonsense over there, so feel free to peruse when you get some free time.
Just to let y'all know, I actually went to high school with Craig Bramscher, the CEO of Brammo, and "reconnected" with him when I was on Facebook (spying on my kids).  I started to read about his company, saw the bike, and I was hooked.

I haven't ridden a motorcycle since I sold my 1973 Honda CB550 about 25 years ago, and I miss the experience.  I hope to change that by becoming the owner of a Brammo Enertia.  Stay tuned.
hope can be Brammo Taiwan exclusive agent!

Hi Toby,

Welcome to the forum. What other motorcycles have you owned? What are you looking forward to most about the Empulse?

Hello....My name is Gavin. I am a Mod over at Aptera forum and an MyNissanLEAF.com. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico...recently canceled my Aptera order after over 2 years of waiting. Currently have an early reservation for a LEAF, with a likely delivery of Jan 2011. I am 49 years old in about a week...told myself I could buy any car I want when I turned 50...but not sure if I'm ready for a cage just yet...

I've been into EVs for some time now. Sadly I do not own a single one, but hope to remedy that soon Smiley. I have solar on the roof and 310 sunny days a year here at 6000 feet, so I would like to use that solar to have truly green transportation.

I have been carless for over 5 years...yes my wife has a car so we are not a carless household, but she uses it daily. I am an everyday either bicycle or scooter rider. I bike in the summer and scooter in the other months. (about 12 mile round trip...city riding, but I will jump on the highway from time to time...my smaller scooter is a 150cc 2 stroke--Genuine Stella---basically a Vespa P clone. Nice for around town...will take it far and fast, but the top speed of 60 limits it...my other scooter I got for visiting my daughter in Phoenix--450 miles each way---so it is a 500cc beast...Gilera Fuoco or Piaggio MP3 500--i like Fuoco better than MP3, so I tend to call it that...top speed of 90 mph...good for highway, still fine in town).

I am hoping to see the Enertia version 2 have the Empulse 6.0 battery system...I love the look of the Enertia but would love for it to go a bit faster and further---an Enertia spirit of 76 would be nice (76 mph top speed, 76 miles top range) or an Enertia 80s (80 mph, 80 miles top range)...I think the Empulse 6 engine in the smaller Enertia, and with a top speed lower than the Empulse, would allow for that...hopefully...

So as I said, no cage for over 5 years...

But I'm getting close to fifty and those single digit mornings are getting a bit "less fun"...well that and riding in snow and ice too....So I thought I would get an EV car...and I want to support early manufacturers...so I am in line to get a LEAF.

A good car and Nissan makes reliable stuff...But I really want a FIAT 500 EV (i like small and funky). But that isn't coming for a couple of years.  Sooooo...

I am thinking I could get a Brammo and forgo a car for a couple of more years...heck with global warming perhaps I won't have any single digit mornings Smiley

So.....waiting to see what Sept news brings about the Enertia 2011 model. If they cram a Empulse 6.0 battery system in there I just might cancel my LEAF and either wait for the Fiat 500 EV...or heck for the same price as the LEAF I could get the Enertia and also grab a Fiat 500 non EV this Dec and trade that in when the EV gets here in 2012 or so.

Lots of options. I've been waiting a long time (darn you Aptera, but at least you taught me patience), so waiting a bit more isn't too hard...but I would like to get something sooner rather than later.

Love the Enertia...but as somebody who already has a scooter that goes 60 mph top speed, well I know my riding style, roads I ride and speeds I like...I would love the Enertia to grow just bit...

As for the Empulse just isn't my style, but I wish it luck.

Anyways...too much chatting about myself...

Gavin

Ps...not ragging on the LEAF...there is still a very good chance I will get one. And even if I don't I hope they sell great. A nice car, and a wonder first EV. Hope to see lots more.
Good for Nissan.

Hi Gavin, and welcome to the forum.  I used to watch the goings-on on the Aptera forum, but stopped lurking there several months ago.  I think canceling your order was a good decision... especially for an old guy like you.  ;D I just turned 49 last month.

I haven't heard any specific details about the Enertia 2.0 (or whatever they might call it) but I'm guessing the news will come out this month, given the CEOs hinting on twitter.

One thing you might want to consider before writing off the Empulse as not your style, is that it will likely come with upright handlebars as standard equipment, rather than the clip-ons in the prototype.

Anyway, glad to have you on board and feel free to dive right in.  We don't require Brammo ownership... just sincere interest, which it sounds like you have.

The Brammoforum Wiki is still active: http://www.brammoforum.com/wiki

Thanks...and congrats on the Peace Blue Enertia...read all about it over at ABG.

As for the Empulse...yes I heard (likely here :) ) that the production model would be somewhere between the current one off and the Enertia...but I'm a scooter guy...I like to ride more upright. I really love the Enertia, just hoping for Version 2 to be a bit faster...80 mph top speed would be perfect. Wouldn't go that fast too often as it will absolutely kill range, but would like to hop on the interstate for a few miles now and then...also it is a blast to open up the speed when hitting the twisties on the turquoise trail...

one last thing...

my roof...solar panels awaiting either an electric car or motorcycle...or both :)  When people complain the electric cars and motorcycles just move the pollution from the tailpipe to some distant factory, I just tell them that the factory is on my roof :)

I would have put more, but I do have a couple of trees in the backyard I didn't want to lose...when they die (they are 50 years old and likely have 10 years of life left) I will cover the whole roof.

Must be very satisfying when you get to comeback with that one. I have a friend here in Santa Monica, Paul Scott, who is a member of the board of directors of Plug In America. He sells solar panels for a living and has just announced that he will be the exclusive sales person for the Leaf at Santa Monica Nissan.

He has a Toyota Rav 4 EV as well as a Vectrix EV motorcycle. He's got solar panels on his roof and he powers his entire house, his car and his motorcycle from those panels. His entire energy cost for THE YEAR for the house and all his local transportation is $100. He says that about $70 of that is billing for simply having a connection to the electric company, not turning the meter. The amount of carbon that he and you are not releaseing into the atmosphere is amazing.

Pretty cool what you can do with the power of the sun.
