Sound Rider Magazine Brammo Article
« on: October 04, 2011, 04:52:22 PM »
I just received my on-line issue of Sound Rider[/i,] which contains an interesting and informative article about Brammo. The author visited the factory in Oregon and leaked a few details, such as Brammo is working on a super moto model and experimenting with regeneration braking taken off the front wheel. In addition Brammofan.com is mentioned in the article. Also mentioned is that Brammo has received some 200 dealer applications that they are sifting through to find 30 shops to become OEM dealers. They say that 2012 will be a big year for Brammo. Read it here:

One statement that caught my eye said: ".....Europe and Asia, two markets the company is banking for out of the box sales ahead of the US".  I wonder what that means?
current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

So just how much will it cost to charge? Utility rates vary by state and county, but a page has been setup at brammofan.com where you can plug in where you live and it will calculate the costs.

I think they meant "brammo.com"

I've already written the editor to clarify.

... Brammo has received some 200 dealer applications ...

One statement that caught my eye said: ".....Europe and Asia, two markets the company is banking for out of the box sales ahead of the US".  I wonder what that means?

Looks like they've updated their article, which now reads: ... Brammo has received some 800 dealer applications ... Wow!
They also fixed the link to Brammo.com

About the Europe and Asian sales; I think that they mean that Brammo expects to sell a lot more bikes over there than over here.

I don't know if you noticed this part of the article:
Quote
A similar effort is underway for Europe. In Hong Kong and Singapore a most unlikely Jackie Chan has stepped up with his Advanced Mobility company to handle sales and distribution which will open up the Asian market.
:o

If the drunken master himself will be helping with sales and distribution in the Asian market, that could be a giant boost for Brammo. Hong Kong and especially Singapore are fantastic markets for Brammo.

I know it's old news, but I didn't see the movie where he is supposedly riding an Enertia. Does anyone know anything about it?

I had no idea there was (or is going to be) a Jackie Chan movie that had an Enertia in it. The Brammo-Jackie Chan connection is not new though. Mr Chan co-founded JCAM (which I think stands for "Jackie Chan Advanced Mobility") in 2005, which sells Brammos and other alternative forms of transport in Hong Kong. They even have a member on his forum:
brammoHKjames has been a member at this forum since April 2010, and the web link that is associated with that user takes you to the JCAM website (http://www.jcam.com.hk/).

Yeah, Jackie loves Brammo.  And the JCAM folks were very generous to ol' Brammofan last Christmas:
