I went ahead and added some clip-ons per 7racer's thread: http://brammoforum.com/index.php?topic=1974.0

While I was at it I also added a power tether kill switch for racing.

For the power kill switch, my favorite is PMR as it can be integrated with the brake side clamp.

1) In the below pic I cut the Red/White wire on the starter switch.

2) The PMR switch has one continuous black wire that needs to be cut to make two leads.

3) One lead is soldered or butt jointed to one cut end of the Red/White wire and the other lead is soldered or butt jointed to the remaining end.

That's it. It took me about 15 minutes on the switch itself.

Helped greatly...the Apex guys remember you. :)

I had just enough time when the sun went down to take a quick spin around the block...so far so good. I dropped my angle just a touch on the adjuster to match my the angle of my other track/race bike clip-ons.

I need to get my windscreen back on. The clip-ons didn't leave me enough room for the universal brackets, but I have an idea to add it back.

Below is a quick pic of the result:

A gotcha that I learned in the process is if you have a MRA or other windshield attached to your Empulse you won't be able to install it back post clip-on install. You won't have any room left for the universal brackets of the windshield.

Since I had all the stock bar brackets left I cut down an old clip-on handle down to fit into them. After that I was able to install the windshield universal brackets without an issue. If you don't have a clip-on handle laying around some other 7/8 bar equivalent would work.

Very nice.
I'd think the shield would help acceleration on the track. It sure increases range on my commute, and with clip-ons, you'll be tucked in behind it more.

For sure. With the clip-ons added the ride is less comfortable but feels more track ready. I won't be sailing as much in the wind now.

Zero sells the same windshield as an accessory for their bikes.  After I installed mine, I noticed that it would bend backward while riding at elevated speeds.  Then I noticed two small hex-head screws,  facing toward the inside of the windshield, located on the plastic mount attached to the shield.  These screws can be tightened with a small metric hex wrench to tighten the pressure against the support balls, thereby preventing the shield from changing its angle while riding.   :)
