17-Mile Drive is widely recognized as one of the most scenic drives in the world. The famous coastal landmark runs through Pacific Grove to Pebble Beach, from the dramatic Pacific coastline to the majestic Del Monte Forest. The awe-inspiring vistas and legendary sites can easily fill an entire day with exploration and discovery, although visitors with less time should not miss the opportunity to experience this wondrous journey as well.Marvel at some of nature’s treasures found along 17-Mile Drive including The Lone Cypress – one of California’s best-known landmarks – Spanish Bay, Cypress Point Lookout and Carmel Bay. You can also see the emerald fairways of The Links at Spanish Bay, Spyglass Hill and the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links. Please note: Motorcycles are prohibited entry onto 17-Mile Drive.
Dear Mr Pierce, I hope this email is going to the right person, but if not, I do hope that you could kindly let me know who I should contact. In short: There is an Electric Motorcycle event at Mazda Laguna Seca on July 27-29th. http://www.egrandprix.com/news.php?id=269 Brammo Powercycles will not only be racing, but will have a number of staff there who would LOVE to ride their electric motorcycles on 17 Mile Drive. http://www.brammo.com/home/While I am not staff, I will be there with them as a fan and will be bringing a Brammo Enertia electric motorcycle to ride. I know that 17 Mile Drive does not allow motorcycles...and I both totally understand and even agree. Gas powered motorcycles are noisy and often put out a large amount of pollution for their size. But it does seem that having electric motorcycles on 17 Mile Drive could be a nice little "Win Win" for Pebble Beach, it's customers and even 17 Mile Drive and it's residents. 1) Quiet and with no tailpipe emissions, an Electric Motorcycle is actually the best way to see and enjoy the drive and sights of 17 Mile Drive. 2) Press...Pebble Beach and 17 Mile Drive do get some small amount of bad press in the Motorcycle world about the rule excluding all motorcycles. Again, I support the rule, but opening it up to electric motorcycles would show that the rule isn't against motorcycle riders, but against the noisy, polluting bikes. 3) Press again...Having a nice press release about the first Motorcycles riding 17 Mile Drive in "X-years" and a nice little photo shoot of the ride would be a good public relations release with very little effort on Pebble Beach's staff. 4) Potential Financial Incentive: Pebble Beach themselves could rent Electric Motorcycles for use on 17 Mile Drive. Customers ride up (in Car or Motorcycle), park their vehicles and rent for 2 hours an electric motorcycle or electric scooter directly from Pebble Beach. Customer get an amazing way to see 17 Mile Drive, 17 Mile Drive has quiet and CLEAN vehicles riding it's length, and Pebble Beach both improves it's standing with the Motorcycle community and makes a bit of profit. Thank you very much for your consideration in this effort. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in e-mailing me, or calling me at 505 xxx-xxxx (my cell). Gavin McCullough
Good afternoon Mr. McCullough,Thank you for your email and interest in Pebble Beach Resorts. The event at Laguna Seca is quite a popular one in this area and I’m sure there will be quite a turnout in late July.I have passed this request on to our executive team for review, and I’ll be following up with you in about a week on next steps, recommendations, etc. if that works on your end.Thank you again for your time and consideration, R.P.Public Relations and Marketing Manager
