Yikes! Fault Codes: A6, B6, B40 - Dead ->fixed
« on: May 19, 2015, 01:49:23 PM »
Hope this can be fixed before te meeting in june.
After a long episode of riding with the Error code B9, the dash flashed some new codes on the display.
The engine stopped and I was coasting among heavy traffic on the highway.
Fortunately the engine started again and I was on my way again.
In the evening this happened again a few times.
While charging the B40 code reappeared and the headlight flashes at regular intervals(!?)

Today I rented a trailer and dropped the bike at the dealer for repair. ****puzzled****

I get A6 quite often - enough that it makes me not put the bike on a timed charger to take advantage of off-peak rates. It's a charging error, even though I also get it when turning on the bike with a key. I was told to cycle the ignition switch, or unplug and replug. I haven't gotten the other two (or they don't stick out in my memory).

Bike is fixed just in time for the Dutch Rally, thanks Glenn!

A new battery was fitted and ballanced under warranty, seems that whas all that was wrong.

BTW, I read an aticle from Israel about a Zero that had similar problems:
http://cleanrider.com/trouble-with-a-zero-fx-in-israel/

Maybe future E-bikes can be equiped with a shut-out device that can make the bike run on fewer batteries.
Just to limp home or to safety.
I know the guys from Eindhoven University designing a modular battery bike

My bike just got an error code of B40 and it won’t start. It’s at the shops now. So what you said that the dealer had to replace one of the bikes battery to fix the problem? Wow that would be an expensive fix if I didn’t have a warranty.

What dealer are you taking it to? No one in my area will touch it. I'm willing to travel with it, depending where.

Where do you live?

My dealer is in the Netherlands, but he will have a hard time getting new parts nowadays
