Chevy Volt Rally, Brammos invited
« on: January 24, 2011, 09:57:10 AM »
Forum member, Chelsea Sexton, has been driving a Chevy Volt as part of the Volt Consumer Advosory Board and will have to give up her car in a few weeks.  She has invited all the other Volt drivers for a rally which will begin at the GM Training/Alt Fuel Center in Burbank, California, to Southern California Edison's Irwindale facility (about 25 miles away).  The reason I'm posting it here is this:

All are welcome, as are all cars- Volts, Leaves, Teslas, Mini Es, RAVs, Rangers, Brammos…and yes, gas cars too. Bring what you got- but more importantly, bring you.

Anyone close by and wanting to join in?  Let us know!

Speaking of Chevy Volts, I just heard on the local radio news report this morning that someone who had a Volt plugged in and charging over night had their garage catch on fire, destroying the Volt and an EV Suzuki that were in the garage. Fortunately the home was protected by a firewall from the garage and the home was not damaged. Unfortunately, preliminary investigation (according to the new report) said that the fire started very near the Volt.

And here is an article regarding this fire:

It seems like a 10-second radio news report doesn't quite cover all the facts.
