Xena XX10 Disc Lock Alarm
« on: October 26, 2011, 09:22:04 PM »

'Nuff said.  This thing works and is LOUD.  The video doesn't do it justice as far as volume is concerned.

How much? Where to get?

Gavin

I take it this one would work with an Enertia? 85 bucks, free shipping...

Yes.... any of the XX10 models -- whatever color -- should work.  They are sturdy, heavy things.  I suppose someone could still, very gently, lift the Brammo and put it in the back of a pickup truck... but it's like any lock or security measure -  they're going to look for the low-hanging fruit/easy pickin's first.

one other question...how long does the alarm go off...

if i'm at work and somebody messes with the bike but then runs off, well I don't want to go out to turn off the alarm 5 times a day...especially when I get my Plus and EVERYBODY wants to look and touch it :)

Honestly, I don't know how long it goes on ... because I'm all "oh crap oh crap oh crap" and I turn it off immediately.  I'll see if the literature that came with it mentions this.

I just heard back from Xena - she doesn't have a lot going on ever since she conquered all the evildoers --
Quote
The alarm sounds for 12 to 15 seconds then stops and resets, and will continue to trigger as long as it's tampered with... So if your cat jumps on the bike and sets it off, it won't continue to wake the neighbors after it scares it away.

Okay, so here's a great deal, forum members:

If you want one of these locks go to:
www.lockandloud.com and, when you order directly from them, put BRAMMO15 in the Promo Code window at checkout and you will get a 15% discount on your order.

Made possible by the massive purchasing POWER of the Brammo Owners Forum  :o

It should be working now.  It was a "date window" issue.  Go forth and purchase... and let us know if the buying experience was good/bad/other.

ordered one...paypal link isn't working (for me), so I just used my cc...

I figured if I got a lock, well that will of course "force" Brammo to get me my plus faster :)

Too bad I don't have a Brammo this weekend. I'm riding in the Dia de los Muertos parade this Sunday. The Enertia would have been PERFECT. The parade is only a couple of miles long and you ride really slow with lots of stopping and starting to throw candy to the children.

no fumes, no noise and no clutch would have been perfect...oh well....next year on my Plus. :)

I was looking for images to show of the event and I found this video just now that actually has me for about a second...at the 23 second mark riding my blue stella (vespa p150 clone) with my Pav40 single wheel trailer. they didn't get a good look at my trailer sadly...and it's actually a bit boring...but heck I'm in it for a fraction of a second so that makes it GREAT. :)   Putty leather coat is me...

Yeah, Enertias are perfect Parade bikes...

Brammo needs to get some in the Rose Bowl Parade...a few Plus Law Enforcement models leading security would very much fit into the Rose Bowls enviromental image (all the floats are made of flowers and other recyclable bits and all that jazz)...great press for the Parade...great press for Brammo...and maybe a few sales to the Pasadena Police as well...
