Ordered a windscreen... or better.. Fly screen
« on: October 14, 2014, 05:32:11 PM »
Not from Brammo, didn't like the design.

but I needed something to compensate for the top case..
With the trunk, the Empulse looks a bit "tail heavy"

Also I noticed the usual wind pressure at high speeds and I don't think my 220pound/6.4ft specs will improve mileage.

If you want to be free of turbulence, you'll need a screen that is higher than your helmet...
Making the Empulse more of a pizza courrier.
No, it's got to be: short, wicked, black....
Now hurry up mailman, I NEED it !
Modifications so far:
Crash bungs
shortened chain tensioner bolts

You've seen, experienced the actual Brammo windscreen(?) or, your impression comes from the Brammo Gear & Accessories web page photo?

My attraction to the elusive Brammo windscreen is the "pictured" mounting bracket design which if nothing else eliminates the necessity for handle bar clamps and stanchions.  Having never seen or tested the Brammo real thing however, I wouldn't know enough to venture beyond what I like about the mounting design method.  Irrespective that, I would be more inclined to go with Brammo, should it ever become a reality, if their windscreens were to be offered in various tint options.

I believe that brammobrain mention that the brammo windscreen will be tinted. Not to mention you can always just tint it yourself.

May I ask what the benefit is of tinting the windscreen, especially if like the one pictured, it is positioned too low to protect your eyes from oncoming headlight glare?

Exactly, a tinted screen matches the bike's overall paint scheme.

Actually, the MRA screen on my bike, with it's accompanying laminar lip, is just below my helmet and gives some of the cleanest air I've ever experienced with a screen, including a full Parabellum Scout.

Here's a picture of it, though mine is in smoke tint 'cuz it looks way cool. ;)
