I'd say: Slap a headlight and license plate on and you've got a serious street superbike that I would certainly consider :)



Or with 999 headlights  :)

Modifications so far:
Crash bungs
shortened chain tensioner bolts
GPS Satellite controlled chain lubrication system

The spec is similar to Lightning and Energica Ego which are both north of $30k. If Polaris can manage it at around $25k, could be something.

Ok, one more and I swear I'll stop. The point about the detuned motor is an important one. They're trying to make it last those 37 miles...

Great news but I wonder what the driver is for Victory to enter the IoM TT? I had the following thoughts:

If it's merely a detuned RR nothing new will be learned, unless...
- They are testing the 17kWh battery pack in a high voltage configuration and we can expect it in the production bike in a lower voltage setup?
- This is actually a production version of the RR and it's availability will be announced at the IoM TT?
- Victory has found a good way to confuse us and distract us from the fact that the production start has fallen awfully behind schedule?
- Victory engineers will grab any opportunity to go racing?

Any other ideas?
Once you go EV, gas is history!

I long ago stopped trying to make any sense of racing.   ;D

My personal theory is, because they can.  They have the bikes, probably had some re-packaged batteries around like Zero's recent battery work, (see the Luke Workman video) and have a racing effort already.  What's to lose? 

...except the race, of course.   :o

Polaris has owned the brand for what, 5 months? Honestly, I think they're taking their new toy out for a spin. Also the fact that they're supporting a Pike's Peak race team, and now this, gives indication of where they want to take the Victory brand. Considering they have zero experience racing motorcycles at any level, and zero experience competing in any non-cruiser segment, I'm sure this is just a relatively cheap way to dip their toes in that world and squeeze some press out of it.

What better way for the Victory engineers to quickly learn about electric motorcycles, how to modify them and what breaks than going racing?  If you can afford it racing makes a good "School of Hard Knocks".   ;)

AFAIK they have about the same amount of energy as the MotoCzysz bikes. Mugen's total energy capacity has always been an open question.

Yeah, I was talking long and hard to the Buckeye Current team about that.  The MotoCzysz ran a 110mph lap last time, right?  (2013)

Sadly not.  At least their corporate phone receptionists don't have any information at this time.  Really hoping Victory won't just follow the race with a production race bike.  I'm really looking forward to an affordable e-cruiser (sorry Brutus V9).
