The website said that I'm not allowed to copy & paste anything from that site, so I've just put who was riding what, and what order they came in. See their website for the full details.

1. Steve Atlas (Brammo),
2. Thad Wolff (Moto Electra),
3. Kenyon Kluge (Volt),
4. Ely Schless (Proto Moto),
5. Mike Hannas (Lightning),
6. Michael Barnes (Lightning),

Brammo + Steve Atlas for the win!  ;D
(Looks like they really beat the pants of everybody else... See the full website for the details. ;))

People seemed to think the times were slow compared to last year, so some doofus posted this over there...

Last years time was 25:33? So this years winner was almost 8 minutes faster over the nine laps???

That sounds like a great improvement to me…maybe I have my numbers wrong? If not it seems this article could have a slightly more upbeat tone.

Yes I would love more bikes racing. Yes I would love to see the electrics beat the gas bikes. Give it some time and both will happen.

But a 30% improvement in race time in 1 year is fantastic.

They also won the 2nd race.
According to our own BrammoBrian (via twitter), they were running at 85% power.  :o

Awesome! Way to go Brammo! :D Very impressive on an outstanding effort.
Questions!
Top speed in straight? Any significant problems to overcome? New learnings?
What were problems of the bikes that scratched?
Congrats to Steve for a great race!
Cheers!(insert beer stein emoticon here)

Yeah, pretty cool to set a track record for electric bikes....the Empulse is looking dang strong...hopefully they get more challengers next race and hopefully they get up to 90-95% power.

Still, Brammo killed last years race time by over 8 freaking minutes...great improvement.

If electric bikes keep making improvements like this they will be crushing the gas bikes next year.

Ok, so the race was fewer laps this year...I wonder why? Any reason? Did all races get shortened?

Anyways, not 8 minutes faster...but if you add three 2 minute laps, the RR would have been about 2 minutes faster....

Brammo did win twice and did set the track record....so that is good.

Hopefully more teams race next and everybody gets a bit faster.

Congrats...

It was amazing to watch the electric bikes fly around the track in near-silence, but even more amazing to see the Empulse still experiencing full-acceleration on the last lap, while the other bikes were clearly starting to lose power.

Check out the pics and video in the Media section.

Results of race two can be seen here.

Only three bikes in that race:

1. Steve Atlas (Brammo),
2. Thad Wolff (Moto Electra),
3. Kenyon Kluge (Volt),

The others didn't start. :(

What were problems of the bikes that scratched?
That's what I want to know too!

Check out the pics and video in the Media section.
On what website can I see the pics and video? ???

Hey guys!  I actually typed up a post while at the track, but somehow my laptop ate it and I lost everything I had written.  Sorry about that.

A great weekend and two really strong wins for the team!  I'm really proud of the effort that everyone put in to include Steve Atlas, who really knows how to hussle a bike around pretty quickly.

The shortened the race distance to 8 laps because they were concerned that the TTX75 bikes wouldn't make the full distance.  We accepted the change to allow a better showing for the race.  We ran 12 laps back to back in the first practice on Friday with consistent lap times, so race length was never a worry for us.  I have no doubt that Steve would've stayed well under 2:00 for a longer race as well.

The motor issues faced at the end of last year and early this year are now seemingly a thing of the past.  Due to the proprietary nature of the changes, I can't tell you what the fixes were, but I will tell you that they are working beautifully and it was a collaborative effort involving both Parker and Brammo’s engineering team.

The only problem this weekend was that Dunlop sent us "new" slicks to bring to the track that were so old they had cracks in the sidewall and wouldn't hold air.  They did not have this size tire at the track, so we tried running a wider, heavier superbike slick on the rear for Race 1.  This also forced us to run different gearing for some clearance issues.  The added weight of the larger rear tire plus the gearing change really spoiled Steve’s drive out of the corners, resulting in slower lap times.  We still ran Race 1 consistently faster than last year’s winners, just barely unable to match the fastest lap of their race.  For Race 2, I had one set of the preferred smaller tire that still held air, and I had the Dunlop techs check it out.  They gave me the thumbs up, so I made the call to go back to the rear tire and gearing combo that we had originally set up and tested on.  This made a huge difference, with Steve able to easily and consistently push into the 1:55 and 1:56s for Race 2 and set a new track record.  The 85% power was a pre-cautionary measure to keep the control loop in the motor controller in very stable range.  Since technically the 2 race results are aggregated to determine the true winner, we didn’t want to take any chances.  Did we leave some performance potential in the bag? … I guess we’ll have to wait and see until we have some stronger competition.  Laguna Seca is looking to be a real showdown as I’m sure Lightning and Mission will be anxious for redemption, especially with all the big talk leading up to the race.

Thanks for everyone that supported us, believed in us, and followed or attended the event.  Your support goes much further than you know to get us through the challenges!

What is nice to see from the 2 races:

Improved times in all laps. Very good, consistent times in the middle 6 laps (4 of them in 1:55, 2 in 1:56). And it is great that Brammo is basically running a modified production bike---yes heavily modified, but still Brammo is just about ready to get a version of this bike out to the public...I don't see that yet from any other company.

It will be interesting to see if a gear box can improve the first lap time.

The only small area of concern for me is the final lap time. Lost 6 seconds each day on the final lap. I was concerned that it was Steve conserving the battery...but it could also have been just slowing a bit on the final lap as nobody was close. I guess it isn't a concern if Brammo was running 12 laps at practice.

How much battery was left at the end? Or is that info you would rather not share?

Also, at the next race is Brammo bumping up the power from 85% or keeping it there? Personally I would love to see a lap or two at near 100% just to see exactly what this puppy will do...but that is a bit selfish of me. :)

Thanks....and congrats.

Gavin....

ps...any thoughts of running the Enertia TTR in the 75 category? Would be fun to see Brammo winning two categories...
