The Place for SEPT NEWS!!!
« on: September 01, 2011, 04:51:26 PM »
I am hoping this thread gets lots of action :)

Report Brammo news, any deposits made for deliveries, etc etc here.

Got my fingers crossed...

Me too, it'll be nice to hear about some deposits for the plus, although I doubt we'll be hearing of any for the empulse yet...

The Enertia Plus is expected to roll off assembly lines this month, right?

I don't know about that.  I'm pre-order #55 for an Enertia Plus, and I have yet to receive any kind of email update.  I've gotten all of the Empulse updates, but nothing specific to the Plus.

I'm #19, haven't heard anything yet, but hoping soon.

As for news, Brammo has said on twitter that they will be drawing the name of the winners of a free Plus and a free Empulse this month...so that should be fun.

Ok, it is now the "ides" of September....

2 weeks in....2 days past my birthday...i guess my present from Brammo is "delayed". :)

Info...Please...i'm dying here in anticipation...

and i know this isn't fair to Brammo but after my experience with Aptera, well every delay, every decrease in communication, my concerns and fears of the product never making it to market rise just a bit...

again not fair as Brammo has proven that they can make a product...but still, delays and moving production and other such events, well I've seen that before and it often ended badly....

thank god Brammo hasn't changed the CEO or replaced the founding members like Aptera did...that would be very concerning...

Gavin

(edit: gah, this sounds like my endless complaining and I really don't want to be "that guy"..but it really isn't complaining as much as yearning...i have a lot of faith in Brammo...I also know it is hard to release new product...I just would love to be riding one right about now...beautiful riding weather here in the Southwest.)

You're not alone, Gavin.

Any kind of indication that progress is being made would go a long way to restoring confidence. The TTXGP is getting some excellent coverage, to the point that I'm getting the impression that Brammo is more interested in preparing for next year's race than producing this year's bike.

All this is very unfair to Brammo, but given the lack of any new information, that's just how I feel about it.

It's tough...I'm a big Brammo fan and a big Brammo supporter...

I've also been burned by Aptera (and VW...was 3rd in line for a GX3 that VW said they were going to make but never did...sigh).

We always want more info...and products sooner...but Brammo has to move at their own speed...still I hate waiting...and I would LOVE more emails...but emails that say nothing of importance aren't really helpful either...so daily or weekly emails would be counter-productive...monthly or bi-weekly would be nice :)

Part of it is my fault as I should have bought an Enertia and then moved up to a Plus when they came later...but I really want to be a Brammo advocate....and I know that if I told people the real world range is 30ish miles, well that won't fly here in New Mexico. Even for people that have a short commute and who would be perfect for the Enertia, well we are a wide open state here and people think 30 miles is just too limiting. Right or Wrong, just the way it is. But with the range of the Plus, well I could convince a lot more people that now is the time to go Electric.

Plus I ride my bike all summer and the Enertia would likely get neglected...or my bike would get neglected and my waste-band would expand...

So, in short (ha...i am way too long winded on line...and, sadly, in person)...pulling for Brammo...hoping for the best...but would love an update real real soon...or a Plus real real soon would be even better. :)

The Hungary factory has been up and running for a while...are their production issues? quality issues? No issues at all?

What we need a guy like Steve Atlas at Flextronics to write a regular blog about how things are going.

I think 'Otto' would be perfect for the job.

Quote
Otto's Flexible Blog
"The plant is at 85% production today, and I had to train two more people to install kick stands this week..."

On the other hand, perhaps Brammo does not want the competition to know exactly what they are up to - especially if there are problems - so such a blog may not be in their interest. Ah well. It would still be nice...

Albuquerque would be a GREAT place for the first US BrammoParx...

hint hint...

we do already have a dirt bike park

http://www.dukecitybmx.org/2011/01/new-public-dirt-bike-park-meeting-1.html

and a MX speedway...

http://sandiaspeedwaymx.com/cgi/blurbdisplay.cgi?SI

now we just need an Electric only one...

the BMX track is year round and used daily...but the MX track is "i think" rarely used...probably cheap to buy...  hint hint

Mmmmmmm. Latest email:

Hi Gavin,

I know you have corresponded with Laura before, and I'm working with her now.  We do want to let you know that the Enertia Plus availability is expected to be second quarter of 2012.

Hang in there, we're "pedaling as fast as we can"

I am assuming this is wrong information (summer 2012 for the plus? For early deposit holders? With production started months ago? No Way...please, I hope no way....)

If true I guess I will be getting a Zero...a man can only wait so long....still I still think this is wrong info....gah, I so very much hope this is wrong info.........)

Prefer the plus, but the Zero DS really isn't a bad bike...and I can get one now....Mmmmmmm

Gavin, add a "2012" to the subject (Place for SEPT NEWS 2012!!!) and you'd probably be about right.

If the plus is 2nd quarter, then I wonder when the Empulse will come out.  :'(.
